The Memorials

INSIDE AND OUT

The church has stood for hundreds of years and throughout that time many memorials have been erected by and in recognition of various people. Outside memorial stones are generally erected by benefactors. Inside they recognise people and service.

CHARLES JOHN PALMER

MAR 1902

Stone inlaid in the right hand wall as you walk up the driveway from Fox Street.
The original shrubs were planted in memory of Charles John Palmer by his wife and children in March 1902.
When the driveway was originally built it was planted with shrubs creating a pleasant approach to the church. However, the shrubs were removed, the banks built up and planted with bushes until around 2020. For many years, this plaque remained hidden behind the vegetation and foliage.
